Disney launches community affairs Web site

The Walt Disney World Resort, Central Florida's largest employer with more than 56,000 people, said Thursday it is launching a new Web site designed to promote a wide variety of its efforts in conservation and community events.

The Web site (www.wdwpublicaffairs.com) is designed to provide community groups and individuals a way to partner with the company, says Jerry Montgomery, Disney's senior vice president of public affairs, in a prepared statement.

Montgomery says the new Internet operation is a clearinghouse of information about how Disney and the community interact.

It contains information about Disney employees, also known as cast members, as well as how to request donations and apply for grants, Disney's environmental programs, industry and governmental partnerships, minority business development and a media relations site for journalists.
