The inaugural flight aboard the Pixar Pier-themed plane departed today, Oct. 7, from Seattle for Orange County with a stop in San Francisco.

Completely repainting the plane at a hangar in Victorville took 24 days and more than 50 gallons of paint in 44 custom colors.

The airplane artwork recreates the scene from the original 1995 “Toy Story” film where Buzz and Woody use Sid’s rocket to fly.

The three-eyed green aliens from “Toy Story” appear on the winglets of the plane. Rex the timid Tyrannosaurus shows up in a window next to the boarding door. Pixar’s Luxo ball covers the nose of the plane.

The plane is officially named “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort” with the tail number N537AS.
