Disney’s 3-D ‘Hannah’ Delivers 5.86 Mil. Viewers
Disney Channel added a new dimension to the Hannah Montana phenomenon Saturday night, as a 3-D concert film starring Miley Cyrus’ alter ego delivered an eye-popping 5.86 million viewers.
According to Nielsen Media Research data, the one-hour special Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert was the top-rated entertainment program on television Saturday night, out-delivering the runner-up, a 10 p.m. repeat of NBC’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent, by some 1.1 million viewers.
The Hannah/Miley concert also did brisk business among Disney’s core demos, averaging 2.22 million kids 6-11 and 1.79 ‘tweens 9-14.
Although the Saturday night (9 p.m.-10 p.m.) showing of the concert film was presented in 3D, an encore screening the following evening was delivered in the traditional two-dimensional format.
