Disney’s Hollywood Studios announces new nighttime holiday spectacular

Nine months after the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights twinkled for the last time, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has announced a new nighttime holiday spectacular set to debut at the Florida theme park later this year, and EW has an exclusive first look at the show’s concept art.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will feature fireworks, special effects, snow, and state-of-the-art projections of Disney characters across the facade of the park’s iconic Chinese Theater. The seasonal show follows characters from several Disney properties —including Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, elves Wayne and Lanny from ABC’s Prep & Landing, and familiar faces fromBambi, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, and Pluto’s Christmas Tree — as they embark on a yuletide adventure to see Santa Claus’ safe return to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

A spirited musical score will add to the immersive experience with renditions of familiar Christmas songs performed with a unique twist. The show will close with a special message from Santa Claus.

Beginning one hour prior to each Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! show, guests can reserve a spot in a special holiday party in the courtyard of the Chinese Theater, which will include seasonal snacks, desserts, and specialty beverages. During the holidays, a giant Christmas tree will greet guests near the park’s main entrance. Visitors can also meet Santa Claus at the Once Upon a Time shop along Sunset Boulevard.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!’s announcement comes amid Disney’s multi-year renovation of the Hollywood Studios park, which saw the demolition of long-standing attractions like the Studio Backlot Tour and Streets of America to make way for major rides, shops, and eateries in new areas themed to Star Wars and Toy Story.

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! runs nightly from Nov. 14 to Dec. 31, 2016. For more information, visit Walt Disney World’s holiday website. Check out EW’s exclusive first look at the new attraction in the photos below.
