Man dies in crash on Disney property

One Disney employee died and another suffered serious injuries when their cars collided head-on along Walt Disney World's road network early today.

The survivor is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Phillip Stitzer, 24, of Orlando, lost control of his westbound vehicle about 12:30 a.m. on Vista Drive and struck Kuang Wu's westbound vehicle, FHP said.

Wu's car rolled onto its roof and the 60-year-old Orlando resident was pronounced dead at the scene near the World Drive intersection by Reedy Creek Fire District paramedics, FHP said.

Stitzer was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition at this afternoon, said a hospital spokesman.

Criminal charges are pending the outcome of a traffic homicide investigation. Troopers at the crash scene ordered blood to be drawn from Stitzer for drug and alcohol testing after detecting signs of drinking, said FHP spokeswoman Kim Miller.

It could not be learned where and how long Wu and Stitzer had worked at Walt Disney World.
