Rider with selfie stick shuts down roller coaster at Disney park
Disney theme parks announced a ban on selfie sticks last summer in the interest of safety, because obviously taking a metal stick on a fast-moving ride is not a good idea.
But apparently that’s not obvious to everyone, which is how one rider shut down a roller coaster at Disney California Adventure on Monday.
Park officials shut down California Screamin’ and evacuated all the riders after they saw a rider trying to use such a stick, KTLA reported.

Disney spokeswoman Melissa Britt told KTLA the incident happened around 5:30 p.m., and the ride was soon back up and running.
