Stars step into Annie Leibovitz’s Disney fairy tale
Who's the fairest of them all?
When Disney asked that question, actress Rachel Weisz's name came up.
She's among the latest celebrities to be featured in the Year of a Million Dreams celebration, which launched in January and has been extended through 2008.
Photographer Annie Leibovitz captured Weisz as Snow White, tennis star Roger Federer as King Arthur, Julie Andrews as the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio and Abigail Breslin as Fira from Disney Fairies. They join previous subjects Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Beyoncé as Alice in Wonderland and David Beckham as the Prince from Sleeping Beauty.
Leibovitz says the actors "take these parts very seriously. They all come in having watched the movie and are prepared." By the end of the shoots, she finds, "they have such a good time playing a role that they don't want to take the clothes off. They want to walk around for a little while."
The ads will appear beginning in November as 14-page inserts in select Condé Nast magazines.
