Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Reusable Bags Now Available

Earlier this week, we told you that park specific reusable bags would be coming to Walt Disney World Resort and on Sunday we got our first look at the themed bags at Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

The bag is divided into four sections, each featuring the park icons of Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, respectively. If you’re staying at a Disney resort, chances are you’re planning on visiting a Disney theme park. Therefore this design choice makes more financial sense on Disney’s end than making a specific reusable bag for each individual resort.

Reusable bags have come to Walt Disney World resort hotels

On the back of the bag you’ll see Cinderella Castle. No surprise they gave this park icon the spotlight.

Similar to the bags available at World of Disney since last October, these reusable bags will cost anywhere from $1 to $2, depending on the size you select.

Here below is a look at the medium and small size bags.

Here’s a look at the sides and “Reduce, Reuse” logo.

Following Disney’s effort to reduce its use of single-use plastics by the end of the year, they’ll also be made from 80% recycled material. If you’re having merchandise delivered to your Disney Resort hotel from the parks, plastic bags will still be used. Otherwise, plastic bags are still being offered to all guests, for now at least.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is now accepting reservations for rooms in December 2019. The new Florida resort is opening at Walt Disney World, and is designed to “immerse guests in the grandeur and enchantment of the European Riviera”.

It will feature a palm tree-lined boulevard, porticos, cascading water features, towers and terraces. There will be about 300 vacation homes, with deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and grand villas that sleep up to 12 guests each. There’s also a new style of rooms, tower-studios that include a private balcony for two.

The resort will also feature a new restaurant called Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, named after Topolino, the Italian name for Mickey Mouse. While the food will focus on French and Italian cuisine, the restaurant will also offer views of Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests at the resort will also be able to travel on the new gondola system – Disney Skyliner – to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

A Woman in Florida Was Caught Selling Fake Disney World Tickets — Here’s How to Avoid Scams

Walt Disney World

Sometimes it’s good to trust your gut.

If you’re feeling iffy about an incredible deal on a Disney trip, you might be right to be wary.

According to WFTV, a woman, 22-year-old Tabreshia Hendry, is being investigated for selling fake Disney World park tickets, making hundreds of dollars in cash off of unwitting victims.

One man, Angel Vega, told WFTV that he noticed some red flags when he dealt with Hendry, but still made the transaction with her.

Vega found Hendry on the website Offer Up and bought nine park tickets from her for $270 ($30 each). A single “Park Per Day” ticket costs $109 and a Universal Orlando Studios one-day ticket costs $114.

“She said, ‘What’s the problem.’ I said, ‘The problem is that you gave me the tickets, but I can’t give you the money unless you guys give me an ID so I can make sure that they’re valid,” Vega said to WFTV. She complied and Vega gave her the cash.

After the transaction, Vega said that Hendry called him later saying the tickets were stolen and that she would return his money. When that didn’t happen, Vega called the police.

Hendry had apparently been selling fake tickets to Disney, Universal and SeaWorld between November 2017 and May 2018, garnering hundreds of dollars for herself, according to WFTV. She is currently out on bond as of Jan. 18.

How to make sure your tickets are real

Unfortunately, finding Disney park deals on classifieds websites usually end with a scam. If you do see something that looks like it’s too good to be true — like a $109 ticket on sale for $30 from a random stranger — consider it “Buyer Beware.”

But, if you are looking for legitimate special offers on a Disney vacation, it’s best to just look at the Disney World website or sites like Mousesavers. If you just want tickets to the park, the Disney World website is a great resource. Remember, it’s good to avoid peak hours and peak seasons.

For SeaWorld, if you’re willing to do a little planning, you can save 20 percent if you buy your tickets at least three days before your visit, according to Fodor’s.

Universal Orlando also has a dedicated page on Mousesavers and Orlando Fun Tickets, or you can visit Undercover Tourist to find more deals.

Disney to Open ‘Zootopia’ Land at Shanghai Theme Park

CREDIT: COURTESY OF DISNEY

The Shanghai Disneyland theme park is to be expanded with the construction of a themed land based on the “Zootopia” animated film and its characters. It will be the first “Zootopia” land at any Disney park worldwide.

“The rapid rate of expansion at Shanghai Disney Resort demonstrates our confidence and commitment to the company’s future development in China,” said Bob Chapek, Disney’s chairman of parks, experiences and consumer products. Disney did not reveal either the expected cost of the project or the anticipated opening date, but said that construction would begin “this year.”

“The new themed land will invite guests to fully immerse themselves in the mammalian metropolis of ‘Zootopia,’ ‘where anyone can be anything,’ and come along on an adventure with Judy and Nick, the lead characters from the hit, Academy Award-winning animated movie. With a brand-new attraction, entertainment, merchandise, and food and beverage offerings, the new land will provide guests with even more to experience and enjoy at Shanghai Disneyland than ever before,” Disney said in a statement.

The “Zootopia” movie was released in China in March 2016. It earned $236 million, an all-comers record for an animation film in Chinese theaters.

The Shanghai park opened in June 2016 with six themed sections, and welcomed some 11 million visitors in its first year. It received its first post-launch expansion in April 2018 with the opening of Toy Story Land. The “Zootopia” section will be the park’s eighth themed land.

“Since the resort’s Grand Opening in 2016, Shanghai Disneyland has gone from strength to strength – continuing to expand and enjoying ever-rising attendance rates while also providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests,” said Yang Jinsong, chairman of Shanghai Shendi Group, Disney’s Chinese joint venture partner for Shanghai Disney Resort.

A Giraffe Gave Birth at Disney World in Front of the Most Surprised Safari Ride Guests

Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom Giraffe gives birth

The magical world of Disney just got a new resident, and some park goers actually got to see it say hello to the world.

According to the Walt Disney World News Today Instagram account, a pregnant giraffe at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom was spotted giving birth to her calf right in the middle of the savanna in the park’s popular Kilimanjaro Safari on Jan. 14.

Normally, the animals would be taken back to enclosures to let nature take its course in private, but some lucky park guests not only got a fun ride through the popular park attraction, but also got a full view of one of Earth’s many wonders as well. It’s like watching an Animal Planet documentary, but up close and personal.

“We interrupt this regularly scheduled Monday to bring you A LIVE BIRTH AT KILIMANJARO SAFARIS. That’s right! A sweet giraffe mama is currently giving birth on the savanna. They tried bringing her backstage, but she just wants to chill tbh,” WDW News Today wrote in its Instagram caption.

If you look closely at the Instagram video, you can see the baby giraffe in its first moments of birth, sticking its little hoof out first.

According to Heavy., some park goers may have actually been present at the ultimate moment of delivery. The birthing process itself can take somewhere between 30 minutes and two hours, though it is unclear how long this little giraffe took to come into the world.

The Kilimanjaro Safari is currently closed, Heavy. reported. It is unclear whether it is due to the giraffe birth or when it will be reopened to guests.

Disney just made their timeshare program a lot less appealing

PHOTO VIA DISNEY

Disney’s timeshare division, Disney Vacation Club, has seen incredible growth since it first began in 1991. By the mid-2000s, the Disney timeshare division had become the highest-rated in the world, with one of the most robust resale markets ever seen in the industry.

One of the most appealing aspects of DVC was that resale market, where owners could sell their contracts at some of the highest rates for any timeshare. Disney has long denied resale customers access to using their points for things like non-DVC hotel rooms, cruise ship tickets, or other items that DVC owners who purchase directly through Disney have access to, but that hasn’t stopped the DVC resale business from booming.

In 2016, Disney made its first dramatic moves into discouraging purchases via the resale market when they stopped offering the Membership Extras to those who purchase DVC via resale. These extra perks include special events, discounts at Disney stores and resorts, and various other benefits. Then last year, Disney again refined the Membership Extras requirements.

Now, Disney is cracking down on the resale market in ways that may cause many to question the value of purchasing via resale.

Beginning Jan. 19, resale contracts purchased for the current 14 DVC resorts can only be used at those 14 resorts. Moving forward, contracts purchased for any new resort, including the two currently in development at WDW, via the resale market will only be able to be used at that specific resort. All of this comes less than a week after Disney rolls out a $6 per point increase for DVC contracts.

The Disney Vacation Club website explained the changes in an announcement posted on the member portal Jan. 7:
“Effective January 19, 2019, only Members who purchase directly from Disney will be able to use their Vacation Points at the 14 existing Disney Vacation Club Resorts or future Resorts—such as Disney’s Riviera Resort or Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Resale contracts purchased for the existing 14 Disney Vacation Club Resorts will only be able to exchange Points into those 14 Resorts.

This change does not apply to contracts purchased prior to January 19, 2019. Contracts gifted to family members will continue to have the same Resort access as before the ownership transfer.

The eligibility rules for Membership Extras and RCI access remain unchanged.

The Buena Vista Trading Company Disclosure Guide has been amended accordingly.”
As Nick Cotton of DVCResaleMarket.com points out, the new restrictions may dramatically lower the appeal and therefore resale value of DVC contracts, likely pushing more people to purchase directly from Disney.

This assumed lower resale value may also mean owners looking to sell their contracts will struggle to sell them for what they owe, which may in turn increase the number of contracts that are foreclosed upon. That, along with a possible increase in those opting for the buyback route instead of selling their contracts via a third party, means Disney could see significant increases in the number of contracts that return to the company. This would give Disney the ability to sell more full contracts long-term.

  • Image via Disney
  • The new Riveria DVC resort at WDW

Cotton also notes that the new restrictions may mean an increase in unreserved rooms. This would create more rooms Disney could then rent itself. Disney is able to rent DVC units to non-DVC members if a unit has not been reserved at least 60 days prior.

Switching resorts from traditional hotels to DVC has been one of the tricks Disney has used for years to keep its hotel occupancy rates well above the industry standards. The potential increase in DVC unit availability that Cotton has theorized would mean Disney could put the massive crowds expected in the coming years in unreserved DVC units, allowing the company to not invest in new hotels, which could possibly lower occupancy rates long-term after the crowds expected over the five or so years decrease.

The rules may also force some DVC owners to vacation at non-WDW DVC resorts if they want to get full use of their contracts.

With the only new DVC resorts announced in Orlando, and with the non-WDW timeshare resorts not nearly as popular, it’s no surprise that Disney would seek ways to increase their DVC unit availability at WDW while also trying to push DVC members to their non-WDW resorts.

Again, though, these new restrictions only apply to members who purchase pre-existing contracts via third parties. The primary purpose of the new restrictions seems to be to encourage customers to buy their contracts directly through Disney.

In the end, the new rules will hurt more than anyone those most dedicated to the Disney brand. While those who buy direct through Disney won’t be affected, these new restrictions do greatly reduce the resale value of DVC contracts, especially contracts for any of the future resorts. DVC is made up by fans who spend tens of thousands of dollars to ensure that they will vacation with the company for decades to come. The changes mean these fans now might not be able to escape the contracts they made with Disney instead forcing foreclosure or buybacks that won’t cover the full amount of what the customers owe. As David Mumpower of Theme Park Tourist so accurately summed up the changes: “Every couple of years, The Walt Disney Company seems to target its most loyal customers. They modify the rules of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) to reduce the program’s value even more. It’s a befuddling practice…”

Our Disney fairytale castle fail

There was no fairytale ending for a couple trying to create a replica Disney Castle in South East Queensland — in a cautionary tale that should be a warning to all borrowers.

The Disney Sleeping Beauty Castle, one of the most iconic images of Disneyland barring the big rodent himself Mickey Mouse, was apparently due to have been erected in Pacific Pines, a suburb in the northern Gold Coast.

The site itself already had a four bedroom, two bathroom, double car space house on it, but behind the facade a magical wonderland was supposed to have emerged.

But the dream collapsed seeing property owners Jonathan and Lekeeta Martin fall foul of their major funder — the Commonwealth Bank — which took them to court to recover funds issued towards the “venture”.

The Disney dream — which may have been a squeeze even in miniature given the site itself was just 921sq m — came to a crunching end when the bank took legal action over the loan not being repaid as planned.

A judgment by Brisbane District Court Judge Deborah Richards delivered four days before Christmas, explained what transpired in the case of Commonwealth Bank of Australia v Martin & Another (2018): “The original loan applied for and given to the defendants was for $150,000 and was taken out on 19 June 2013. That loan was paid down to $86,942 when the defendants applied for a top up for that loan to $63,000 to build a replica Disney castle in their backyard”.

The judgment went on: “The $63,000 was drawn over time between 12 December 2014 and 10 June 2015. Although the defendants have pointed to some clerical errors in the loan application, there does not seem to be any anomaly in the loan applications such as would render them void.”

One of the claims the court worked through was that the bank “engaged in irresponsible lending” because “the first defendant had credit cards that weren’t disclosed and that his income was not able to service the loan”.

The judgment cleared that up by saying: “The bank relied on information supplied by the defendants and on that information there was sufficient margin for the loan to be approved. There was good equity in the house and the funds were for renovations and improvements. The fact that the money was not used for those purposes was not within the knowledge of the bank at the time.”

“The fact that the first defendant may have been irresponsible in his use of his credit facility and that the second defendant spoke to the bank about this does not amount to a ground to set aside the judgement.”

The Gold Coast Bulletin has reported the Martins were no longer at the property, and the judgment has stated that the couple will need to pay costs for the case which will be determined later.

Disney responds after dying Marvel fan asks to see ‘Avengers: Endgame’ before release

The cast of Avengers: Infinity War Credit: Marvel

Make it happen….

Disney has reportedly reached out to a terminally ill fan, after they started a campaign to see Avengers: Endgame before the film is released.

The fan, known only as Alexander, went viral after starting a campaign on Reddit called “‘Dying Before April: My Endgame”. Many fans tagged the reddit accounts of directors Joe and Anthony Russo, while others used #Avengers4Alexander on social media.

Alexander, who is thought to be from Australia, explained in his original post: “Liver cancer, mouth cancer, bone marrow failure.

“Will probably be dead before April. I’ve heard of people getting early screenings before. How do I get in on this action?

“I’m not a child or anyone with a particularly tragic story. Just a normal guy. I’m 33, lost my sister three years ago to the same rare genetic disease it turns out I have too. I’ll leave behind a devoted girlfriend and an adopted greyhound.”

The rare genetic disease that he inherited is fancomi anemia – which severely affects the production of bone marrow.

Alexander added: “”Also, because Australia is a small place, turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who is chums with Chris Hemsworth. I think they called him tonight on my behalf.”

Now, he says that Disney has responded, and they’re looking into the various options of how to help him.

“Disney have reached out and we are discussing options. I cried when I read their email. It’s everything I hoped for and I owe it to all of you,” he explained.

But he’s not quite finished yet – his next campaign will be to watch the last Game of Thrones season before it airs.

“I’m gonna seem so greedy,” he joked.

Avengers: Endgame is set for release in April.

11 of the best Disney songs of all time

Disney‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ is a classic tune from ‘The Lion King.’

  • Many animated Disney movies come with a unique original soundtrack.
  • Disney songs like “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” have been nominated for or have won Oscars.
  • “The Bare Necessities” and “Under the Sea” are some of Disney’s upbeat and popular songs.
  • “Friend Like Me” from “Aladdin” was nominated for an Academy Award.

There are very few things that trigger an immense feeling of childhood nostalgia quite like belting out your favourite Disney song as an adult. Not only do you remember the exact scene said the song is sung in, but also you can (attempt to) sing the background vocals while simultaneously singing the lead.

There’s no denying that Disney has perfected the formula of producing entertaining and long-lasting family-friendly films. A heartfelt and emotionally genuine story coupled with some great original tunes is essentially a recipe for success in the Walt Disney universe.

Combining their award recognition and Billboard success with their long-lasting popularity, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best Disney songs of all time.

“Under the Sea” is a joyful ode to living a simple life underwater.

Disney‘Under the Sea’ is from ‘The Little Mermaid.’

Under the Sea” is a sing-songy tune that lists the benefits of living life underwater as opposed to on land. Sebastian the crab attempts to lure Ariel the mermaid from the idea of a future with Prince Eric where “up on the shore they work all day.”

In true Disney form, the song won an Oscar for best original song in 1989 and three decades later it still remains a popular staple in Disney music history.

As far as sensational villain songs go, “Cruella De Vil” is one of Disney’s best.

DisneyCruella De Vil is the villain in ‘101 Dalmations.’

Gluttony and arrogance lead to her downfall, but at least viewers were blessed with the snappy number that was “Cruella De Vil.” “101 Dalmatians” only has three songs, but this one truly stands out.

Struggling songwriter Roger sings the jingle to his wife as a distraction from writer’s block, and the rhyming of “De Vil” with everything Disney fans could imagine. Audiences young and old can appreciate the short melody; it has just enough impact to land on this list.

“Friends on the Other Side” gives a modern day Disney villain their own song.

Walt Disney PicturesThe song is from ‘The Princess and the Frog.’

When it comes to Disney tunes, it seems like anything Randy Newman touches turns to music gold. From writing songs for the “Cars” to the “Toy Story” franchise, the longtime songwriter provides incredible anthems that you couldn’t get out of your head if you tried.

Friends on the Other Side” is no different. It’s such an underrated Disney song, and one of the few in which the villain gets their time in the spotlight. Performed by Keith David as the mischievous Dr. Facilier, he belts out this delightfully sinister tune just as he transforms Prince Naveen into the cursed frog.

Similar to Scar’s “Be Prepared” in “The Lion King,” “Friends on the Other Side” is exquisitely eerie in its visuals, reminding audiences of the vast creativity that Disney writers and animators possess.

“Let it Go” continues to be one of the most memorable songs from “Frozen.”

Disney/YouTube‘Let It Go’ has made it to the Billboard Top 100.

The song is just over five years old, but “Let it Go” has already solidified itself as an instant Disney classic. As Elsa, voiced by Idina Menzel, grapples with leaving the kingdom when members of her community discover her unusual talent of generating ice, she belts out the signature song with such gusto that you have no other choice but to understand the ice queen’s conflict

On the charts, “Let it Go” crept into the top five of the Billboard Top 100. Similar to other Disney songs on this list, the icy anthem also won an Oscar for best original song in 2014.

“Friend Like Me” showcased the range of the beloved Rob Williams.

Disney‘Friend Like Me’ is from ‘Aladdin.’

Sung by the late Robin Williams as the Genie, “Friend Like Me” perfectly eclipses the drama and extravagance of “Aladdin.” Released on Halloween in 1992, the blueberry-hued giant grants protagonist Aladdin three wishes with an incredibly grandiose performance.

There are several great songs on the “Aladdin” soundtrack; however, “Friend Like Me” supersedes them all. It’s the audience’s first introduction of the thief’s trusty mentor and it reminds fans young and old that no wish is unimaginable.

Even though Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman didn’t come home with the trophy, “Friend Like Me” was nominated for an Academy Award in 1993 for best original song.

“How Far I’ll Go” was penned by a Broadway legend.

DisneyThe catchy tune is featured in ‘Moana.’

Since the debut of “Hamilton,” Broadway has been forever changed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and he’s also brought memorable songs to Disney. The tune is only two years old, but it’s already become one of modern Disney’s chart-topping hits thanks to his catchy but relatable lyrics. In the song, Moana is yearning for more but is resisting her path to royalty for a more humble fate.

Taking himself back to when he was 16 and pondering his adult plans, Miranda told Dinner Party Download that he sequestered himself in his childhood bedroom at his parents’ house to pen “How Far I’ll Go.” He not only wanted to grasp the struggles of choosing a future meant for while highlighting the excitement of making such an adult decision.

“Be Our Guest” is a welcoming song with an ironic connotation.

Disney‘Be Our Guest’ is also the name of a popular restaurant in Disney World.

Captured by eventual love interest the Beast, our heroine Belle has no choice but to acclimate herself with her new living quarters in 1991’s “Beauty and the Beast.” The bookworm is welcomed with open arms by human turned candelabra Lumiere who serenades the young girl. As she comfortably sits at the longer than life table, a plethora of delectable plates appear to her in an assembly line.

A popular line in “Be Our Guest” is so legendary, it inspired Disney World’s Magic Kingdom to create their rendition of “the grey stuff.” It might just be equally as delicious.

“The Bare Necessities” was a different, jazzy sound for Disney.

Walt Disney Studios‘The Bare Necessities’ is from ‘Jungle Book.’

Who would have imagined they’d hear a jazzy, soulful number in a film about a young boy living with animals in the jungle? Proving they can combine anything into a reputable jingle, “The Bare Necessities” has both a laid-back theme to fit jungle bum Baloo the bear’s casual demeanour.

The song was nominated for an Academy Award for best original song in 1967 and there is also an immensely popular cover of the song sung by the late Louis Armstrong.

Few opening sequences captivate audiences quite like “Circle of Life.”

Disney‘The Lion King’ is filled with memorable music.

As the animals ready themselves to meet young Simba, the eventual king of Pride Land, the a capella Zulu introduction combined with the rising sun is the perfect introduction to one of Disney’s best hits.

Elton John and Tim Rice deserve the credit for writing this remarkable hit. “Circle of Life” was nominated for an Oscar for best original song in 1994 but unfortunately, did not win. That’s ok – the inevitable victor was another “The Lion King” tune: “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

“Can You Feel The Love Tonight” won an Oscar for best original song

Disney‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ is a romantic tune.

When it comes to Disney ballads, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is in a league of its own. Sung at the crux of Simba and Nala’s revelation that they’re in love, the tune is nothing short of first-dance worthy.

Lyricist Tim Rice authored the song, and singer Elton John provided the arrangement and lead vocals. “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” peaked at number four on US Billboard charts and went on to earn an Academy Award in 1994 for best original song.

Cinderella had children dreaming of their own princess moment in “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”

RKO Radio Pictures/DisneyCinderella is a Disney princess.

In the movie of her namesake, Cinderella sings the romantic melody to her gaggle of animal confidants. The message in the song is clear: never stop dreaming. As a young girl left to serve as a servant by orders of her evil stepmothers and stepsisters, Cinderella longs for a life outside the small quarters of her bedroom.

Kiwi actors shine in Disney’s Aladdin, but Australian Genie steals the show

The showstopping Friend Like Me number from Aladdin.
SUPPLIEDThe showstopping Friend Like Me number from Aladdin.

REVIEW: From the beginning production number to the curtain call, Aladdin, the hit musical based on the animated Disney film, stunned Kiwi audiences when it flew into Auckland’s Civic Theatre on Thursday night.

But surprisingly, the flying carpet ride – in which our hero (Graeme Isaako-Purcell) and Princess Jasmine (Shubshri Kandiah) glide across the stage on a carpet singing A Whole New World – wasn’t the show stopping moment.

That honour went to the spectacle that was A Friend Like Me, in which the scene-stealing Genie (Gareth Jacobs) tap dances and belts out the jazz-inspired anthem.

The scene showed why the role, made famous by Robin Williams in the film, is the real star of Aladdin.

Jacobs was able to match the same humour and energy that Williams injected into the film and after that particular song-and-dance number, the cast received a standing ovation.

Jacobs, a Melbourne-born actor, stole the show despite not having a hometown advantage like New Zealand-raised Isaako-Purcell and Adam Murphy, who played the villainous role of Jafar.

Both are talented actors and singers and performed with many of their family members in the audience.

The magnitude of performing in front of loved ones showed during Isaako-Purcell’s solo of Proud of Your Boy, a ballad sung by Aladdin to his dead mother.

You could see the emotion in Isaako-Purcell’s face as he sang the words, knowing that his own mother, Jone, and his grandmother, Saimisa, were in the audience watching.

That emotion returned during the curtain call, when Isaako-Purcell came out on stage to take his bow while trying to hold back tears. These moments in theatre are priceless.

NZ raised Graeme Isaako-Purcell plays Aladdin beside Shubshri Kandiah as Princess Jasmine in the hit musical.
NZ raised Graeme Isaako-Purcell plays Aladdin beside Shubshri Kandiah as Princess Jasmine in the hit musical.

With an international production of this calibre, the high production values, large-scale sets and performances from the cast exceeded expectations.

The singing was pitch-perfect and the sound design was so flawless that my friend was convinced the cast were lip-syncing to a backing track, which of course they weren’t.

Aladdin continues the trend of multi-million dollar Broadway musicals coming to New Zealand and giving us a theatre experience that one would normally only experience in cities like New York or London.

We’ve had large scale musicals like Mary Poppins, Matilda, Wicked and Chicago. If Kiwi theatre lovers get their wish, then hopefully more shows of this magnitude will grace our shores.

Producers of The Lion King, I hope you’re reading this.
