How to land one of the coveted spots on the Disney Cruise in Australia

Disney cruises are headed down under ... and plenty of Aussies are excited.Disney cruises are headed down under … and plenty of Aussies are excited.

It was recently announced the Disney Cruise Lines would be bringing their Wonder ship to Australia for a limited number of trips.

The announcement was music to the ears of Aussie Disney fans – for years Australians have been wishing that they didn’t have to travel across the globe to visit one of the theme parks, or jump on board one of Disney’s famous Cruise Lines.

Tickets are going to be *hot* property. Word on the street is cabins will sell out pretty quickly.

We asked Rebecca Mason from Mr Chocolate’s Travel (Australia’s specialist Disney travel agency) for advice on how to make sure you land one of the coveted spots.

How do people book a Disney cruise from Australia?

Tickets will go on sale to all guests on September 29, 2022 (at 8am AEST or 11am NZDT) and you can choose a package from two nights on board the ship to a fun-packed six nights. The best way to land a spot is to register your interest ASAP with an agency that sells the product (we are one of the few agencies that can sell Disney cruises directly through a live portal).  Alternatively you can try your luck online when tickets go live.

Where do the Australian Disney cruises go?

The southern hemisphere trips will be departing from ports in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in Australia, and Auckland in New Zealand. The trips will mostly be between Australian ports, or will be short roundtrips from each city. There will also be some cruises to Hobart and Noumea.

What happens if you miss out – will there be another opportunity to secure tickets?

We’re expecting Disney’s first Australian cruise season to sell out very quickly so make sure you register your interest today if you don’t want to miss out. Keep enquiring because often availability for cabins will come up in the weeks after release and leading up to each sailing.

Hopefully this will be the first of many Disney ships to sail down under and there will be more opportunities to experience the magic of Disney at sea in the years to come.

What does the Disney cruise ticket include?

While on board, Disney Cruise Line guests will be immersed in the magic of Disney with unforgettable character encounters with favourites such as Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto, and entertainment including original Broadway-quality shows.

Guests will also enjoy memorable dining experiences with themed restaurants including Tiana’s Place, where guests can meet Princess Tiana herself and enjoy a taste of New Orleans cooking, and Animator’s Palate, an interactive dining experience that celebrates Disney animation.A Disney cruise provides a little magic at sea.

Don’t be surprised if the kids forget to eat because they’re having too much fun.

Also don’t be surprised if you lose them while they’re totally absorbed in the Frozen adventures in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, the multi-level replica of Andy’s Room from Toy Story or the Marvel Super Hero Academy.

For the adults who just need a break from all the magic, there’s also the adults-only Quiet Cove pool or the Senses Spa and Salon.
