Disney recruits at University of Ballarat

THE wonderful world of Disney could soon become a reality for some lucky University of Ballarat students.

Recruitment staff from Disneyland California yesterday conducted job interviews with a group of the university's tourism students.

Up for grabs were six- and 12-month placements in the Disney International College Program next year.

Positions included character performer, food and beverage attendant, resort hopper, lifeguard and vacation planner.

While in America, employees can also enrol in a number of professional development courses.

"It really is a great resume and CV builder," Disney's international recruiter Sarah Hinchberger said.

Dr Mary Hollick from the university's School of Business said it was the first time the recruiters had visited the university.

"This is a great opportunity for students to go abroad, make friends with a multicultural workforce, and develop essential skills for their future careers," she said.

The students will find out within the next month if they have been successful.
