Disney’s ‘Bambi’ voted top tearjerker movie

Walt Disney’s 66-year-old “Bambi” has been named the best tearjerker movie of all time ahead of other favourites such as ‘E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial’ and ‘The Lion King’.

 

The tale of a young deer whose mother is shot by hunters topped an online poll of films that make audiences weep, reports dailymail.co.uk.

Raunchy romance “Ghost”, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, came second.

Another animated Disney film, “The Lion King”, was third, sharing its place with Steven Spielberg’s “E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial”.

“Titanic”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, “Beaches”, starring Bette Midler, “Philadelphi”, with Tom Hanks as a gay lawyer with AIDS, and “Watership Down” also followed in the descending order in the top 10.

“Boys Don’t Cry” and “Steel Magnolias” occupied the last slots.
